The Auckland Bar Hop is a celebration of Auckland’s beers, brewers and bars. A craft beer scene is emerging here, and it’s as unique as the city itself. We’ve got five brew pubs in the inner-city and two in the outer suburbs. In the past year, bars with craft beer taps have popped up all over the place, each catering to a different cliental. We have brewers of an award-winning standard, making some of the tastiest brews in the country. And it’s about time everyone knew all of this!
The Auckland Hop is a self-guided tour through seven of Auckland’s best craft beer purveyors. It starts at the top of the town, at Galbraiths Ale House, where an excellent lunch is recommended to set you up for the day. Then it’s off down the hill, where you can choose your own path, and enjoy the beers and bars at a discounted rate. At the end of the night, you’ll have access to an exclusive Hop get-together at Brewery Britomart, where you can catch up with the other Hoppers, compare notes and sample the ales of our newest brew pub.
Details are currently being finanlised and prices and tickets will soon be available from this site. Follow @aucklandhop on Twitter for all the latest updates and keep April 21 free!
And if you’d like to extend your Hop to a Skip, you can also book in for a tasting at Hallertau Brewbar and Restaurant. A bus will pick up Skippers from a central Auckland location and take them out to Hallertau, where they’ll have a beer tasting and tour of the brewery, then drop them at Galbraiths in time for the Hop itself.
