The Brewery Britomart
The Brewery Britomart is a brew-on-site gastro pub with up to seven fresh beers served directly from the serving tanks and a food menu designed to incorporate beer and food paired with beer. The Brewery Britomart also incorporates a Brewery Tap Room bar for intimate tastings. Anything the beer enthusiast can wish for, really!
Cornerbar is the perfect place to enjoy an nice cold beer in the heart of the city. They’re very proud of their constantly growing selection of homegrown craft beers and their friendly staff are happy to help you find the perfect match. Unwind or amp up in their eclectic space – whether it’s a lively lunch, an early evening starting point or a late night haven, Cornerbar has something for everyone.
Galbraith’s Ale House
Housed in the old Grafton Library, Galbraith’s Alehouse is a class brew pub with real ale and lager brewery. With eight house beers, five guest taps and a huge bottled beer list showcasing beers from NZ and around the world, this fiercely independent free-house has a dedicated following. Conversation is king at Galbraith’s.
O’Carroll’s Freehouse is a small craft bar with excellent food and a warm environment right in the middle of the CBD. With twelve taps that change on a regular basis and a great selection of bottle beers, you’ll find something to your taste. Their well-informed and friendly staff hope to give you the best advice on what beer would suit your palate or complement your meal.
The Shakespeare Tavern & Brewery
The Shakespeare Hotel’s new owners, the McIntyre family, are keen to get craft beer flowing through the taps again. The heart and soul of Shakespeare’s, the brewery, back up and running, under the veteran eye of brewer Ben Middlemiss and his Dogberry Pale Ale is currently available on tap. Between them, the McIntyres and Ben Middlemiss Brewing are doing their best to revive New Zealand’s first brewpub.
Skysport Grill is New Zealand’s first purpose-built genuine sports grill and bar, featuring over 25 sports viewing screens and over 40 beers on tap from all over the world. An American-style sports bar with an exciting menu of New Zealand fare cooked on the rotisserie, Skysport Grill plays a continuous selection of classic rock music on a state-of-the-art sound system.
Hallertau Brewbar and Restaurant
The Hallertau Brewbar and Restaurant is the brainchild of beer maker Steve Plowman. Steve and his wife Hayley have run the family-owned Hallertau since 2005. Nestled in the greenery of Riverhead, it’s a fantastic combination of brewing and an epicurean lifestyle, loved by locals and all who call in.
As an optional extra, we are also offering limited tickets to a tasting and brewery tour at Hallertau Brewbar and Restaurant. While not every will be able to enjoy their sumptuous brews on the day, we highly recommend visiting Hallertau at your leisure another time.
